We hope to be able to reintroduce similar services in the next few years.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A first: free legal consultations for trans people, their families and loved ones in Quebec! This pilot project, running during the months of August and September 2024, will eventually lead to the creation of more permanent services for the benefit of the local trans community.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the different fields of law we can serve:[\/vc_column_text][uncode_list icon=&#8221;fa fa-arrow-right&#8221; uncode_shortcode_id=&#8221;117229&#8243;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>civil law<\/li>\n<li>tenancy law<\/li>\n<li>employment law (employee side only)<\/li>\n<li>family law<\/li>\n<li>victims&#8217; law (re: criminal acts, sexual assault victims, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>criminal law (August 8th only)<\/li>\n<li>immigration law (August 8\u201310 only)<\/li>\n<li>refugee law*<\/li>\n<li>vital statistics applications (such as name changes &amp; gender marker changes: <a href=\"https:\/\/juritrans.ca\/qc\/en\/in-person-trans-id-clinic\/\">Trans ID Clinic<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>criminal record checks &amp; verification<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/uncode_list][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=&#8221;191719&#8243;]*<em>A specific process will be set up for appointments in refugee law. Please click here (TBA) to book an appointment. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">No refugee law consultations will be given at our pop-up booths.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>You may find us after the <strong>Montr\u00e9al Trans March<\/strong> (<a href=\"http:\/\/marchetrans.com\/en\">link<\/a>), on <strong>August 3rd<\/strong> between <strong>4:30pm and 8:30pm<\/strong> at Parc Lafontaine, or at the Olympic Stadium in the context of <strong>Fiert\u00e9 Montr\u00e9al<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/fiertemontreal.com\/en\/event\/espace-juridique-trans-juritrans\">link<\/a>), between\u00a0<strong>August<\/strong> <strong>8, 9, 10, and 11 between 5pm and 8pm <\/strong>(with limited services until 11pm).
